The Cots 4 Tots story

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a non-profit foundation that supports the Marine Corps' annual toy drive. It offers financial, advisory, administrative logistical and promotional assistance to local Toys for Tots Coordinators and many other services that the Marine Corps cannot provide. It also distributes informational and educational materials to the general public, arranges for national corporations to include information about Toys for Tots into their paid advertisements, and conducts an annual public education program and public relations.

The Cots 4 Tots story began in the year 2010 with a fundraising appeal to Bristol's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located at St Michael's Hospital. Since its beginning, the charity has raised tens of thousands of pounds to support families who have sick or premature babies in the West of England and South Wales. Its work includes providing accommodation for families in homes and the provision of state-of-the-art equipment for the NICU.

One of the main focuses is the Cots For Tots House, a cost-free "home from home" for families staying at the hospital. It is located near the NICU, allowing parents to be close to their infants. Since 2012 the charity has assisted more than 2,100 families stay in the home.

Families who stay at Cots for Tots House can be reassured that they are not alone.  www.cots4tots.co.uk  are part of a community of other parents going through similar experiences, and they can help each one another out. In addition, they have access to a wide range of facilities to make their stay as comfortable as is possible.

The charity also funds an artist who visits the NICU in order to reduce stress and pain for both babies and parents. It has been proven to improve the quality of life for the patients and their families. Music therapy can reduce the amount needed to treat children, thereby saving hospitals both time and money. The therapist utilizes specially-designed resonant musical instruments that are tuned to specific frequencies. They play soothing tunes to calm babies. Furthermore, the resonant instruments also generate vibrations that can soothe the fathers and mothers.

She says Cots for Tots was "an absolute blessing", and that her family and her would not have been capable of coping without it. "You make friends here, and you build a real community and feel a deep love for one another," she said. "Without it who knows what our lives might have looked like."

Selecting the right crib for your baby is an important decision. There are many sizes and styles, so you should consider what you need long-term. A cot must be sturdy and have a good railing. It must also be easy to clean and have a removable mattress. Some cots have an adjustable height base that can be ideal for infant children.

Moving can be stressful for everyone however for parents who are expecting it's even more so. They have to cope with a baby and all the additional issues that come with it. But, by making certain preparations, and hiring a transport company early you can ensure your move is smooth.
